Malt Whisky Yearbook 2018 * The family-owned bottler and owner of Glengoyne and Tamdhu distilleries, is the tenth largest whisky firm in Scotland. The results for the financial year ending September 2016 followed the same strong trend as it had done during the previous few years. From a turnover of £64.8m, the company could present a pre-tax profit of £11.5m. Apart from Tamdhu and Glengoyne single malts, the company also acts as an independent bottler by releasing malts from other distilleries under the name of Dun Bheagan and The Chieftain´s. Isle of Skye (with four different expressions) is a blended malt and there is also Smokehead, a peated single malt from Islay. In addition to this, it also produces gin and vodka, as well as selling bulk whisky to customers who wish to create their own brand, both within the UK and abroad. In September 2016, the company acquired Spencerfield Spirit which was created a few years ago by Alex and Jane Nicol. The deal included Edinburgh Gin with two distilleries as well as the blended malt Sheep Dip and Pig´s Nose blended Scotch.*
